Pictures Studios operates and maintains 22 sound stages.
Scores of films have been shot on the lots historic
stages, including some of MGMs classics: THE WIZARD
OF OZ, SINGIN IN THE RAIN, MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY,
KISS ME KATE, and NORTH BY NORTHWEST. Esther Williams
aquatic musicals made the water tank on Stage 30 famous.
More recent films released under the Columbia Pictures
and TriStar Pictures banners have utilized multiple stages
while filming on the lot, such as MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING,
HOOK, JERRY MAGUIRE, MEN IN BLACK, MEN IN BLACK II, and
SPIDER-MAN. The studios largest stage is 31,324
square feet, 132 wide, 50 high and 237
long.
The difference between a completely empty stage and a
