The
city entered an era of redevelopment in the 1970's during
which the market for housing was in great demand. It
has remained an oasis  within the urban metropolis. Today it is a five square mile charter city with its own city government, school district, and police and fire departments. Harry Culver's community boasts tree-lined streets, beautiful parks, and a balance of residential and commercial zones, with a strong film industry presence. Sony Pictures Entertainment now operates the historic MGM studio on Washington Boulevard and employs approximately 3,000 people locally. Culver City is a wonderful place to live, work, and visit.
