Pathe Studios merges with RKO and the studio is renamed RKO-Pathe Studios
 
 
Helms Bakery is constructed and occupied by 1932; today a designated city landmark

Olympics (Xth Olympiad) is held in Los Angeles; Helms Bakery supplies bread
 
1934
City Yard at Jefferson and Duquesne is purchased for $4,000
 
1935
Ballona Creek is concreted by Army Corps of Engineering
 
 
David O. Selznick joins RKO-Pathe and the studio is renamed Selznick International

City adopts the motto, "The Heart of Screenland"

The "Little People" come to Culver City to film the WIZARD OF OZ and stay in the Culver and Adams hotels
